Broker/ Owner/Managing Partner: Steve Nauert

Steve Nauert's primary education was at Palos Verdes High School in California. He then attended various classes and correspondence classes relating to Real Estate and Real Estate finance. His first Real Estate experience was in the 1980’s working for a business brokerage called South Bay Investments: selling liquor stores, dry cleaners, restaurants etc. Mr. Nauert spent two years representing buyers and sellers at South Bay Investments, then went to work for Wagoner Jacobson, an apartment building brokerage in Los Angeles for a year.

Mr. Nauert has spent the majority of his business career in the restaurant business. He has personally owned and operated 5 restaurants over a 20 year period. He would find, purchase, and operate these restaurants, two of which were limited partnerships. When it was time to sell, Mr. Nauert would find the buyers and negotiate the sales. Three of Mr. Nauert's restaurants were a success, 2 were failures. The restaurant business is very tough one, but it tough taught Mr. Nauert some powerfull lessons: Lesson #1, go into a business with little or no competition, where you can raise prices along with demand. This is what Warren Buffett calls a business with a moat around it. Steve found that business in apartment building ownership.

Ten years ago Mr. Nauert re-entered the Real Estate business with Shorewood Realtors, primarily a residential brokerage. The Internet was just picking up speed and he created a website, http://www.safarirealtors.com, for apartment building buyers and sellers. This website turned out to be a smashing success, and Mr. Nauert was able to leave Shorewood Realtors and open Safari Realty & Loan in 2002. Since that time Mr. Nauert and his staff have helped negotiate over 100 transactions for buyers, sellers and partners.
