How come I haven't known about this?

Brokerage houses and banks created a misconception that buying stocks, bonds and mutual funds was all that was allowed through retirement products. This is 100% false! Brokerage houses and banks have a vested interest in having you invest in stocks, bonds and mutual funds—not real estate, businesses and other non-traditional investments. Here’s what we do: Our clients purchase apartment buildings. For example, one unit rents for $600.00 per month. We increase the rent 4% per year. By year 20, monthly rent is $1,333, by year 30, it’s $1,988. The mortgage is paid off, our clients have 30 years of accumulated rental income in their IRA, and they are still collecting rent. We let inflation, leverage, and compound interest do all the work.
